Saturday 22nd July 10 - 4pm - Gypsy Flower and mushroom making with Jim

Flowers and fungi are an exciting and easy introduction into the world of green woodworking and a lovely gift for fellow gnomes. In this workshop you will start with a choice of piece of wood and, learning how to use a draw knife and whittling knife you can turn it into a super cool piece of woody goodness.

Time will be spent familiarising yourself with tools, practising on a few blanks and of course making your Gyspy Flower and mushroom with your own personal touch. It gives you plenty of time to experiment.

WARNING: woodworking can become so enjoyable that you may not want to stop. Fortunately you will be carving in a beautiful garden which you can stay in for as long as you want. So please do:)

I repeat - no experience in using green woodworking tools in necessary BUT a willingness to learn safely and responsibly is.

Other details

There will be a lunch shared with volunteers at the garden with copious amounts of tea provided. Please do bring something to share if you can though:) If you can not come to this workshop but would like to come to another, send an email to bedfordfieldsforestgarden@gmail.com signalling your interest and we'll see if there's enough interest to run another.
