Tour of the forest garden - herbaceous plants

  • Bedford Fields Community Forest Garden Woodhouse Cliff Leeds, LS6 2HF United Kingdom (map)

Each tour lasts for one hour and covers one particular layer of the forest garden. After thee introduction, the tour leader will concentrate on this one layer and how it is embedded in the design of the garden, what plants are commonly used in this layer, and how to maintain it.

We start from the very big and get smaller each week and so this third tour is focussed on most species rich layer in the forest garden - the herbaceous layer. herbaceous plants are basically non-woody plants that don't grow on the ground. Come find out a large range of possible herbaceous plants, the benefits they bring to the garden, and how we keep them productive.

All tours are run by donation so please kind enough to keep the project going with whatever coins are jingling in your pocket!

Tours will start promptly at 7 but you can join in if you're late of course.

Hope to see you there!
